Sri Lanka Law College is the sole institution in Sri Lanka, authorized to permit students as qualified for admittance to the legal profession. Governed by the Council of Legal Education (under the Incorporated Council of Legal Education Ordinance, No. 2 of 1900), Law College provides legal education to its students in preparation to qualify as Attorneys-at-Law.

Over the years, Sri Lanka Law College has consistently assured all its students commencing their career as an Attorney-at-Law are professionally qualified with knowledge and skills to function as officers of Court.
