Voet Inn, the hostel of Sri Lanka Law College, has a history dating back to 1949. It was initially situated at Barnes Place, Colombo, and was sponsored by N E Weerasooriya, K C This hostel has always played a pivotal role in shaping the living and learning experiences of many law students. In 1986, after the recognition of a need for expansion and better facilities, Voet Inn was relocated to Cotta Road, Rajagiriya.
The Voet Inn is an outcome of the vision for a conducive environment for legal scholars to complete their education. The hostel has always been acting as the cornerstone in the educational journey of numerous law students. The hostel reflects the commitment of Sri Lanka Law College to nurture and foster legal education in Sri Lanka.
The Voet Inn is more than just a residence; it is a symbol of camaraderie, academic pursuit, and the collective pursuit of legal excellence. With its rich legacy and history, the Voet Inn has always been one of the main pillars of Sri Lanka Law College on its journey towards brilliance. The shift to Cotta Road, Rajagiriya, in 1986 marked a new chapter in the history of the hostel. It ensured the legacy of the Voet Inn to thrive as a hub for legal education and community building.

The Sri Lanka Law College functions under the Incorporated Council of Legal Education (under the Incorporated Council of Legal Education Ordinance No.2 of 1900 as amended) to administer legal education to persons who desire to be enrolled as an Attorney-at-Law in the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka.
