ICLE Scholarships

Award
Scholarship covering 50% of the annual fee for selected students in the Primary, Intermediate, and Final years.

Criteria

  1. Direct entry students
  2. Age limit below 30 years
  3. Demonstrate financial need, academic excellence, and participation in extracurricular activities

Mahapola Scholarship

Award
Merit-based: LKR 2,200/- per selected student
General-based: LKR 2,150/- per selected student

Criteria

Merit-based

  1. Less than 24 years at the closing date of the application
  2. Highest grades achieved at the entrance examination

General-based

  1. Less than 24 years at the closing date of the application
  2. Income status of parents
  3. Marks achieved at the entrance examination

C. R. De Silva Memorial Scholarship

Award
The education costs, including annual registration and examination expenses for all three years of the selected candidate, will be covered by the scholarship.

Criteria

1. Should not be more than 28 years of age on the closing date of the applications for the scholarship.
2. Should have passed the General Entrance Examination on the first attempt.
3. Should be able to provide financial documents, stating the financial condition of the family.
4. Academic excellence, as demonstrated by GCE A/L results and the merit of the General Entrance examination.
5. Extra-curricular activities within the Law College or related fields will be considered.

Lalith Athulathmudali PC Trust Fund Scholarship

Award
Three scholarships, each worth LKR 30,000

Criteria

1. Should not be more than 28 years of age on the closing date of the applications for the scholarships.
2. Should be able to provide proof of financial documents stating the financial condition of the family.
3. Should not be recipients of Mahapola Scholarships.
4. Should reside in the hostel during the year of scholarship.
5. Should be a resident outside of Colombo, preferably in a rural area.

D L & F De Saram Scholarship

Award
Lecture fees, hostel fees, food money for all three years

Criteria

1. Should have performed well at the Law College General Entrance Examination.
2. Should not be able to finance themselves at Law College.
3. Should be a resident outside of Colombo, preferably in a rural area.
4. Should reside in the hostel during the year of scholarship.

The Peace & Unity in Memory of Late Mr Thavanesan Scholarship

Award
Four (4) scholarships for three communities (Sinhala/Tamil/Muslim), each worth LKR 25,000/-

Criteria

1. Should be permanent residents from outside areas of Colombo, preferably from rural areas.
2. Should not be a recipient of Mahapola Scholarships.
3. Should have performed well at the General Entrance / Preliminary, Intermediate Examinations in October, last year.
4. Should not be able to finance themselves at Law College.

Mrs Rose Ariyagama Memorial Scholarship

Award
Preliminary year, Intermediate year and Final year registration fees, exam fees

Criteria

1. Should have scored the highest marks in the General Law Entrance Examination in the last year.
2. Should not be a recipient of Mahapola scholarships.
3. Should be a resident outside of Colombo, preferably in a rural area.
4. Should be residing in the hostel.

G B De Silva Memorial Scholarship

Award
Three (3) Scholarships, each worth LKR 3000/-

Criteria

1. Should be a permanent resident of Kandy District.
2. Should not be a recipient of Mahapola Scholarship.
3. Should have performed well in the General Entrance/Preliminary Year Examination.

By offering a variety of scholarships, including the Mahapola Higher Education Scholarship, ICLE scholarship for internal students, Trust Fund, Sri Lanka Law College ensures that its students obtain the best possible education with the peace of mind that they deserve. These scholarships are awarded based on students’ academic performance( merit based), extracurricular activities and their financial status.
